On Saturday (February 16th) floats rolled down the streets of Flushing, New York to celebrate Chinese New Year. And this year, NTD Television was there to meet and greet its viewers.

Onlookers got a surprise when they saw western faces on the float for the predominantly Chinese network. Staff from NTD's Multi-language turned into vibrant drummers to welcome in the New Year.

Along the parade, viewers expressed their thoughts about NTD.

[Mrs. Liu, NTD Viewer]:
"Very good, us Chinese people living here can speak freely about what is in our hearts, and get freedom for our fellow Chinese."

[Mrs. Chen, NTD Viewer]:
"There are some things newspapers don't report on, NTD reports these things and looks at these issues in China."

NTD?s mission is to bring uncensored information in and out of China. Chinese internet censors have blocked NTD?s website in the Mainland, but viewers can pick up the satellite broadcast or use special software to access NTD on the web.?

Despite needing to overcome the restrictions, certain NTD programs already have a large following in China.?

"We have the broadcast in China every day. Shi Tao's commentary program is especially popular in China. It?s fast paced, and the focus is Mainland Chinese issues, it goes very deep. I think there will finally be a day when all the people of China will view NTD. Thank you, you have done very well."

All of NTD?s programming is available online. In addition to cable channels available in several cities around the world, NTD also broadcast vial two satellite signals in Asia and one in Europe.?
